The tax on large bank deposits will affect about 2% of Sberbank depositors. This was announced by the chairman of the board of the financial organization German Gref.
“We evaluated, this can touch up to about 2% of all our depositors. This is the maximum. Most likely, it will be around 1% of depositors. But from the position of one bank it is difficult to evaluate, because the total deposits will be posted, and therefore we made such extrapolation to the whole situation, based on what we know by the presence of contributions with us, ”Gref said.
He also stated that he is not a supporter of any increase in taxation.
“Our competitive advantage is relatively low tax rates, and now we are losing it. I believe that the latest measure to go to the state is to increase taxes, ”Gref said, noting that it would not be possible to get economic growth if taxes are actively increasing.
According to him, now the situation was stabilized after a certain outflow of deposits, which was observed during the active phase of restrictions on the background of information about the new tax.
Recall that in the spring a law was adopted, which taxes personal income tax at a rate of 13% excess of income in the form of interest received on all deposits calculated as a work of 1 million rubles and the key rate of the Bank of Russia, which is valid for the first number of tax period. The new order will work from January 1, 2021 and will be applied to income received from this date.
