The minimum wage under the new methodology for calculating the Ministry of Labor will increase in 2021 to 12,792 rubles, and the cost of living is up to 11,653 rubles. This was stated by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy Inna Svyenko.
“The proposed measure will allow us to establish the ratio of the cost of living per capita as a whole in the Russian Federation with the amount of median income in the whole country in 2021 in the amount of 11,653 rubles, as well as in the amount of 12702 rubles for the able -bodied population. The minimum wage will be 12792 rubles, ”Svyenko said.
She added that an increase in the minimum wage in 2021 will affect about 4 million people.
We will remind, earlier today it became known that the Ministry of Labor proposed a new approach to the establishment of a subsistence minimum and minimum wage. The Office proposes to refuse to calculate the subsistence minimum as a statistical value of the consumption basket and define it as part (44.2%) of average per capita income.
For the able -bodied population, the cost of living should amount to 109%of this indicator, for children - 97%, for pensioners - 86%. At the same time, the minimum wage, which, by law, should not be less than the subsistence minimum for the able -bodied population, is proposed to be set at the level of 42% of the median salary in Russia.
