The EU imposed sanctions against Kiriyenko, Bortnikov and two deputy Shoigu because of the case of the poisoning of Navalny

The EU imposed sanctions due to the poisoning of Alexei Navalny against the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, the director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, two deputy Minister of Defense Alexei Krivoruchko and Pavel Popov, the head of the presidential department of Andrei Yarin and Putin's envoy in the Siberian Federal District Sergey Chanipilo. This is stated in the official magazine of the European Union.

Also, the State Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology (Gosniiht) fell under the sanctions, in which the novice poison was developed in Soviet times.

In addition, the European Union’s report emphasizes that Navalny’s poisoning could occur with the coordination of the presidential administration and with the support of the FSB, as well as local authorities.

On the eve of the same sanctions list was published by The New York Times with reference to its own sources.

Recall that on October 8, France and Germany developed and transferred the EU proposals for sanctions that will become a reaction to the poisoning of Russian opposition Alexei Navalny, the Le Monde newspaper said. The publication wrote that the sanctions list consists of nine people. It included representatives of the Administration of the President of Russia and the security forces.
