Penza: verdict under Art. 280 Criminal Code

A 31-year-old visitor from Vorkuta was sentenced to a year of probation.

On October 21, 2020, it became known that in Penza, a court found a 31-year-old resident of Vorkuta guilty under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public incitement to extremism on the Internet) and sentenced him to one year of imprisonment with probation for two years and a ban on publishing materials on the Internet also for two years.

According to the prosecutor's office of the Penza region, the reason for the persecution of the man was his publications on the social network, "containing calls to commit violent acts against groups of people on a national basis and belonging to a certain profession."   Sources
