The head of Kaliningrad resigned

The Council of Deputies of Kaliningrad adopted the early resignation of the head of the city of Alexei Silanov. This was reported in the apparatus of the representative body.

“Silanov’s resignation has just been accepted at an extraordinary meeting of the City Council. The mayor left his post of his own free will. All 26 deputies unanimously voted for resignation, ”the apparatus said.

Thus, the head of the city ahead of schedule left the elected position, to which he was elected in April 2018 by the deputies of the Council for the term of office of the representative body. The powers of this composition of the Council end in September 2021.

In October, Elena Dyatlova was appointed first deputy head of Kaliningrad. After the mayor’s resignation, she will fulfill his duties in full.
