Five people were detained in Kazan.
On November 6, 2020, it became known that in Kazan, the FSB detained five alleged members of the radical Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir banned in Russia. The agency also reported that a criminal case had been opened against the detainees, probably under Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (organization of the activities of a terrorist organization).
According to investigators, the detainees "distributed terrorist ideology among the residents of Tatarstan using secrecy measures during meetings" and "implemented the recruitment of Muslims into their ranks."
Recall that we consider it unlawful to accuse supporters of Hizb ut-Tahrir under the "terrorist" articles of the Criminal Code only on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.).
