After appeals of the schoolgirl's parents to the prosecutor's office the director of the school allowed the girl to visit training in a scarf. The parents withdrew the complaint.
13 November 2020, it became known that the parents of one of the seventh grade students secondary school in the village of Stolbishche Laishevsky district of Tatarstan appealed to the prosecutor's office and the district Department of Education with a complaint against the director and teachers of the school who banned the girl come to school in a headscarf.
According to the parents, the class teacher and teacher of the Tatar language exerted moral pressure on the student so that she stopped wearing the headscarf, and referred to the words of the director that other schoolgirls who did not refuse to wear the headscarf were forced to leave the school.
After the parents filed a complaint, the director apologized to the girl and her family and allowed her to “break the routine” and continue attending school in a headscarf.
The parents withdrew their complaint.
