Residents of Novokuznetsk captured the city administration and spent the night in it after the authorities refused the dialogue about the transport reform in the city. It is reported by Novokuznetsk.su.
Transport reform in the city started on November 18. Within its framework, it was planned to update the bus park, change the network of routes and methods of paying for fare, as well as upgrade the transport network. However, according to the publication, everything was reduced to the fact that private traders were banned, and all the routes were given to the St. Petersburg company "Petiteum.
“The monopoly company that seized our city did not have the required number of buses, but the administration is in no hurry to terminate contracts with them. How do they try to get out of the situation? They leave 2 routes in the city - No. 345 and No. 27, canceled by Kuznetsov back in April 2020! In the fact of legally, these routes in the city should not be! What does the mayor answer this? He brazenly lies to us all, covering the company that did not provide transportation on route No. 345, ” said Olesya Tienina, director of the League of Carriers.
Residents complained that the bus fleet was reduced by 40 units, the new transport could not go out onto the streets in time and went with schedule violations, the buses were crowded, and the electronic fare payment system did not work. In addition, many drivers were not from Novokuznetsk and were poorly oriented in the city.
“Nobody hides these difficulties, the city administration and personally the head of the city has been working on their elimination from November 18. At the same time, the Kuzbass government supports transport reform, which will fully provide residents of Novokuznetsk with comfortable and modern public transport. Profile ministries are connected to the setting of a new transport scheme, which provide comprehensive support to the city, ” said Kuzbass Governor Sergei Tsivilev.
Despite this, the residents of the city turned to President Putin, demanding to resign the mayor.
Today, the mayor of Novokuznetsk, Sergei Kuznetsov, was still a protesting. According to the portal of "Your City", he said that no one will cancel the reform, the system is getting better, but he will not go to resign, since he still has many problems besides transport.
