
Member of the Federation Council, former Governor of the Kursk Region Alexander Mikhailov died at the age of 69. As the head of the Committee of the Federation Council on the regulations Vyacheslav Timchenko specified , the senator did not die from coronavirus.
“He led the reception of citizens in the region and it became ill at the reception, a heart attack,” Timchenko said.
Mikhailov led the Kursk region in 2000-2018, first as a member of the Communist Party, and since 2005 - as a representative of United Russia. After leaving the governor's post, he became a senator from the executive branch of the Kursk region.
