A resident of Ufa received a year of probation for calling for xenophobic violence on the VKontakte social network.
In January 2021, the Demsky District Court of Ufa delivered a verdict in the criminal case of a 38-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities).
According to the case file, from January to February 2019, the defendant posted comments on the social network VKontakte, which contained calls "to commit violent acts on ethnic grounds." According to the conclusion of the examination, the comments were recognized as extremist.
The accused pleaded guilty.
The court sentenced him to 1 year of suspended liberty with a probationary period of 1 year and a ban on activities related to the administration of websites of electronic or information and telecommunication networks, including on the Internet, for 2 years.
