The author of this text, published in the newspaper Free Press in the summer of 2012, is Zakhar Prilepin. At that time, he had not yet become the Nedofuhrer of the party “For Truth”, but was simply an ordinary anti -Semite and a provocateur. Allegedly written on behalf of the liberals, but in fact - Jews.
A letter to Comrade Stalin
(text of 2012)
Socialism was built. We set people in it. Boris Slutsky
We settled in your socialism.
We divided the country created by you.
We earned millions in factories built by your slaves and your scientists. We banged the enterprises you erect and took the money received for the cordon, where we built palaces. Thousands of real palaces. You have never had such a summer residence, an Ottsya freak.
We sold the ice crops and atomic vehicles you laid and bought yachts for ourselves. This, by the way, is not a metaphor at all, this is the fact of our biography.
Therefore, your name itchs and itches inside, we want you to never be.
You have saved your life to our family. If it were not for you, our grandfathers and great -grandfathers would have changed their minds in gas chambers, neatly placed from Brest to Vladivostok, and our issue would be finally resolved. You put in seven layers of Russian people to save our seeds.
When we say about ourselves that we also fought, we are aware that we fought only in Russia, with Russia, on the ridge of Russian people. In France, in Poland, in Hungary, in Czechoslovakia, in Romania, and then everywhere we couldn’t fight so well, we were collected and burned there. It turned out only in Russia, where we gained salvation under your ugly wing.
<...>
We say - and here is a rare case when we are telling almost the truth - that you did not spare and periodically exterminated the Russian people. We traditionally increase the number of victims by tens or even hundreds of times, but these are details. The main thing is that we are silent about the fact that neither this people nor its intelligentsia are at all dear to us. In today's seven -in -law, unceasing disappearance of the country's population and the people's aristocracy, we tirelessly and selflessly blame - what a charming paradox! - you! It was not we who killed the Russian village, Russian science and reduced the Russian intelligentsia to the level of tramps and bastards - this, do not laugh, all of you. You! Dead 60 years ago! And we have nothing to do with it. When we came here, everything has already broken and bend. We earned our billions ourselves, with our labor, from scratch! We swear by our mother.

<...>
We also confidently say that the victory took place contrary to you.
<...>
We say that you yourself wanted to untie the war, although you have not found a single document proving this.
We say that you killed all the red officers, and sometimes even erects the military men killed by you to the pedestal, and we hate and trample those whom you did not kill. You killed Tukhachevsky and Blucher, but left Voroshilov and Budyonny. Therefore, the last two are mediocrity and bastards. If it happened to the contrary, and Tukhachevsky and Blucher were left alive, then they would have been mediocrity and bastards.
Be that as it may, we firmly know that you decapitated the army and science. The fact that with you, we contrary to you had an army and science, and with us not to see either one or the other, does not cancel our confidence.
<...>
We forgave everything and everyone, we have not forgiven only you.
You were hated by “Western democracies” and “Western autocracies”, and these same financial circles, and still hate, because they remember who they once dealt with.
They dealt with something opposite to us in all respects. You are a different reference point. You are another pole. You are a carrier of a program that will never accommodate our town consciousness.
You stood at the head of the country that won the most terrible war in the history of mankind.
Hatred for you is proportionate only to your affairs.
<...>
With you, the foundations of the conquest of the cosmos were laid - if you lived a little longer, the cosmic flight would happen to you - and that would be completely unbearable. Can you imagine? - The king, the mustachioed Caesar, overlapping the whole world and releasing a person, like a chick, outside the planet - from his forever steaming tube!
Oh, if you had lived for another half a century, no one would exchange the great cosmic Odyssey for iPads and computer games.
Moreover, they created an atomic bomb with you - which saved the world from a nuclear war, and Russian cities from American nuclear blows, when instead of Peter there would be warm and phosphorusing Hiroshima, and instead of Kyiv - cloudy and peaceful Nagasaki. And that would be a triumph of democracy, so dear to us.
You made Russia what it has never been - the strongest country on the globe. Not a single empire in the history of mankind has never been strong as Russia with you.
Who might like all this?
We try very hard and do not be able to waste and let your inheritance, your name in the wind, replace the bright memory of your great achievements - a black memory of yours, yes, real, and, yes, monstrous crimes.
We owe everyone to you. If you were cursed.
Russian liberal public
And this is my answer to him, written at the same time:
Igor Irteniev - Zakhar Prilepin (2012)
- Hello, Zakhar. I read your letter to Comrade Stalin, written, as I understand it, on my behalf. A couple of years ago, I remember, you called me, apparently, like other representatives of the Russian liberal public, with a request to sign a completely different letter in defense of your partygenosse Limonov. He did not disdain, therefore. And now I remembered about us again. True, in a slightly different context.
I'm not going to refute all your frauds. I will dwell on only one. Who fought on the ridge of the Russian people? Boris Slutsky, who would have rolled over in the coffin, learning that you would decorate your Pasquille with an epigraph from him? My father, who returned from the front, to which he volunteered, with two severe wounds? Half a million Jews who fought in the Great Patriotic War? Two hundred thousand who died on it? Scum, Prilepin, small vile scum.
PSso that you do not have the impression that I am writing this letter from a safe distance, I inform you that I will be in Russia until September 20, and then I will return in December until spring. You have my coordinates.
... And ten days ago, who gained political fat, the eve publicly called my father an officer of the Stalin NKVD.
Well, you will have to dwell on this topic in more detail, starting from afar, and give a word to the writer Alexander Osokin. His book “The Great Secret of the Great Patriotic War” was published in the publishing house “Time”. Gathering materials for her about the first day of the war, he turned to the famous historian Roy Medvedev.
“The unimaginable was happening that day,” said Roy Alexandrovich. - I was shown in the apparatus of the Central Committee the strongest documentary material. Someone very smart from the Glavpur ordered that all participants in the war that still serve in the army write a report for June 22, 1941-where they were, what and how they did-and sent them. But when this scribble was seen in the Central Committee, they ordered everything to be classified and removed to hell. ” Those decorated materials disappeared. But Roy Medvedev found one folder “on a given topic” in his own archive.
The unknown, according to Medvedev, the chronicler day after day methodically interviewed hundreds of eyewitnesses. He reported the following about himself:
“Once in the fall of 1942 in the army, I constantly tried to understand for myself what happened on June 22, 1941, which is the cause of the disaster. The Stalinist formulation regarding the unpreparedness for the war of “peaceful nations” excluded the very opportunity to get to the bottom of the matter. In 1955-1958, I made an independent attempt to collect materials based on the thought that Port Arthur and Pearl Harbor are repeated. Since admission to the materials of the Podolsk archive of the NGO was excluded for me, I decided to undertake a “unspoken investigation” by choosing a Delbryuk and Kul method, applied in a book on a disaster on August 8, 1918, where the researchers established what exactly happened on the entire front of the allies in the notorious “black day” of the German army. The results of the conversations were recorded on the same day, clarified and detailed at subsequent meetings. The collected materials, for all their fragmentation, expand our ideas about the 1941 June catastrophe. ”
This unknown chronicler was my father.
The fact that he collects the memories of the war participants about its first day was known at home. And when the first time I caught my eye, a notebook, written out by small father’s handwriting-it was probably in the mid-1960s-honestly, I did not attach much importance to the stupidity of years. In addition, much of what was contained in it was already known. For example, from the book of Alexander Nekrich “1941, June 22”, which he signed to his father, or the story of Grigory Baklanov “July of the Forty -First”, standing nearby on a shelf. The topic of criminal Stalinist mistakes in preparation for the war was discussed at that time widely and openly. And the thought that my father began to collect these certificates in the years when for such a lesson it was possible to easily get a deadline, in my cheerful head, of course, did not come.

My youth took place in constant ideological disputes with my father. I accused him of reconciliation, unwillingness to recognize the obvious vices of the system. For some reason, it seemed to me fundamentally important to poke it in this nose. He, a convinced communist who joined the party, like many people of his generations, at the front, was painfully difficult to admit. Although Samizdat was not translated in the house, and closer to the night, the father invariably seated in his close office behind the trophy “telefunen”, so that through the crack and howl to catch the “voice of America” or more appreciated by them respectable, with a claim to the objectivity of “BBC”. When I found him behind this unreliable occupation, he explained that as a propagandist of the district committee needed a full information picture to answer the provocative questions of spiteful people like me.
In general, his historical education suggested involvement in the ideological sphere. And not only ideological, by the way. From an early age, his father was selflessly fond of history and after school entered the Moscow Historical and Archival Institute, where he met my mother. After graduate school in 1940, he was distributed in Frunze as the head of the archival department of the Kyrgyz NKVD. For a talented young scientist who published printed works on military history even on a student bench, this meant a complete collapse of a scientific career, but it was strongly impossible to abandon such a distribution in their right mind. Fortunately, the father did not engage in operational work, but the very fact of being in the ranks of such an organization did not contribute little to mental comfort.
From the very beginning of the war, he threw the authorities with reports with a request to send to the front. The colleagues turned their finger at the temple.
The management carefully supported the opinion that valuable employees are needed here, while sending to the front is evidence of security. In the end, a positive response was received to the next report, and after the end of the Stalingrad Military-Political School, the father fell into the army. Father fought on Kalininsky, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Ukrainian fronts, was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree and three medals.
Contrary to widespread opinion, political workers at the front were not only involved in the ideological pumping of personnel. On the account of the guard of senior lieutenant Moses Rabinovich, twelve parachute jumps, four of which are combat. He freed Crimea, fought on the Karelian Isthmus as part of the 99th Guards Division. In March 1945, under Sekoshferavar, after a severe war, the war ended for him.

He returned home in 1946. He entered the history teacher at the 1st Moscow Preparatory Artillery School, but in the midst of the struggle with cosmopolitanism was dismissed. For another ten years he taught history at the school of working youth and only in 1964 the efforts of friends became a senior researcher at the State Historical Museum. The specialty of his father was a military story. For him, brilliant, according to numerous evidence of colleagues, the archivist, “work with documents” was not crafty euphemisms, but an exciting business of his whole life. It was in the Orenburg archive that he came across a mention of the branch of the Southern Secret Society, which formed the basis of his doctoral dissertation, ruthlessly hacked by the monopolist of the Decembrist theme by academician Militsa Nachkina.
Today, without exaggeration, the Great War is remembered mainly twice a year. This is done purely ritually, with official pathos in early May and no less official tear in late June. The rest of the year, the reminder of it is the faceless forty -five and thirty -four, abundantly decorating the areas of the district centers, and the stele and gypsum infantrymen who descended on one knee differ little from them in terms of individuality. Although, probably, they can touch the soul of a former front -line soldier. I bring from memory a father's poem:
He fought impudently and stubbornly, Death by youth is not in knowing, And he wrote home: “I'll be back, mother, Wait for me, and I will return with victory. ” Just did not come With the victory, the boy. In a roadside hustle and shaking On the grave a gray machine gunner Mournful gaze Looks from under the helmet.

I'm afraid that the surviving participants in that war are only interesting to each other. By and large, they do not concern either the state - and when people worried it? -Neither, no matter how bitter, the population, who has their problems above the roof. Even for me, born in the late 1940s, the memory of her went somewhere on the periphery of consciousness, although the personnel of the old chronicles and military songs by inertia are languidly surrendered somewhere in the left side of the chest. Like the best books written through this hell. Like the best films shot by them. But this is probably the protective property of memory. It is interesting, how many then, in the early 1940s, the events of the First World War, in our case, were sharply experienced? But there were huge sacrifices, their heroes, vivid victories and crushing defeats.
It is probably difficult to find people more indifferent to human losses than ours.
The quintessence of such an attitude is the proverb that I read out amazing in accuracy: “To die - do not wander bast shoes. He lay down under the image and stared his eyes. A million there, a million here - who thinks. ”
I think that the new facts related to the pre -war period, no matter how sensational and shocking they look like, will not change the situation. In my eyes, Stalin, whether he was a victim of aggression or an aggressor that was failed for some reason, is a criminal. Cannibal and murderer. In the eyes of the authors, and perhaps the audience of my favorite program “Six Personnel” is a charming elderly Caucasian endowed with an infernal, but therefore even more attractive sense of humor.
It seems to me that a similar program with a pretty grandfather Adolf on today's German television is unlikely to be possible. But the West is not a decree for us, we drove some important historical point on which the arrows could still be translated.
