Solikamsk: verdict under Art. 280 Criminal Code

A local resident was sentenced to three years in prison.

On January 28, 2021, it became known that in the Perm Territory, the Solikamsk City Court found the prisoner of IK-6 Maxim Semakin guilty under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremism on the Internet) and sentenced him to three years in a strict regime colony. It is reported that earlier the man was convicted of theft.

The reason for initiating a criminal case was a comment that Semakin left in April 2018 in the People of Berezniki group on VKontakte. The examination found statements in this text that “express an incitement to commit hostile acts of violence against a group of persons united on the basis of language, nationality, origin and territory.”
