A project to build another church in a green zone is being discussed in St. Petersburg

At the beginning of February 2021, public discussion of the construction project of another Orthodox church in Frunzensky district of St. Petersburg, on the territory of the green zone adjacent to Park of Fire Heroes.

As of February 4, out of more than 40 responses on the website of the government of St. Petersburg, only one was in support for the construction, the rest - against.

Opponents of the construction point out that in the immediate vicinity of this site there are already two existing temples, and in the area “norms are not observed on green spaces per inhabitant. Besides, on this site is located a pillbox from the Second World War war, which is a historical and cultural object and is protected by the state.
