Volgograd: verdict under Art. 280 Criminal Code

A 34-year-old local resident was sentenced to 1 year and 8 months probation.

On March 25, 2021, it became known that the Sovetsky District Court of Volgograd found 34-year-old local resident R. L. guilty under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremism on the Internet) and sentenced him to 1 year and 8 months of suspended imprisonment with deprivation of the right to administer websites for 2 years.

The reason for initiating the case was a comment that the man published in one of the communities on VKontakte. In it, a Volgograd citizen called for violence against people from Central Asia and the Caucasus.
