Great Britain introduces a new law in accordance with which the persons acting on behalf of the governments of “hostile” foreign states will be obliged to register their presence in the kingdom. It is reported by The Times.

The law will affect, in particular, citizens of Russia and China. Failure to fulfill this requirement will be criminally punishable.

According to the publication, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce the adoption of the bill on May 11.

The government will also update the law on state secret so that it can be used against persons who are trying to undermine the interests of Great Britain from abroad. I will include cyber attacks in these actions.

Recall that last week, the Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin was called to the British Foreign Ministry, where he was expressed as anxious to the “malicious actions” of Moscow. “The British Foreign Ministry called the Russian ambassador due to the serious concern of Great Britain in connection with malicious activities,” the department said.

Among such Russian actions, cyber attacks, interference in the elections, and the increase in the military presence on the border with Ukraine and in Crimea were mentioned.
