Our borscht! RIA Novosti and Vesti issued the publication of the Russian agency for international “recognition” of borscht by Russian

RIA Novosti brought a message to the main page of its site, entitled "Google recognized borscht by a Russian dish." It says :

“The Internet platform“ Google Art and Culture ”included borsch in the list of ten Russian dishes that went down in history.

“The story of borscht goes into the depths of the centuries, but in the twentieth century this simple and hearty soup became the main dish in the cafe menu from Khabarovsk to Brest!” - It is told in the article. <...>
They clarified that there are many options for borsch in table books, and Ukrainian - with grated lard and garlic - one of them. This dish can be prepared with different types of meat-bacon, sausages and boiled beef-or with red pepper and smoked pork (“Flot”). ”

They did not miss this event and "News". In their material, under the heading “Google called borscht by a Russian dish” says :

“On the Google Arts & Culture Internet platform, a selection of ten Russian dishes that went down in history. Borsch fell on the list. <...>

The Internet platform says that there are many dishes in cook books, including Ukrainian-grated lard and garlic are added there. There is also Borsch in Moscow with different types of meat.

In addition to the beloved by many, the soup included vinaigrette, olivier, cheesecakes, dumplings, buckwheat porridge, beef stroganov, okroshka, pancakes, barbecue. <...>

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine applied for Borsch on the UNESCO heritage list. ”

The “recognition” of Russian rights to borsch from Google seemed important news at once by the two largest state propaganda media. It is not clear, however, why Google is seen as an authoritative instance in this matter.

But Google is not involved in considering such issues at all, and Google Arts & Culture publishes their materials of the platform partners - related to the culture and tourism of the organization from different countries. Recently, a publication called “10 Russian dishes that went down in history” appeared there; Among these ten borscht is also mentioned. The publication is equipped with a disclaimer: "Some stories are created by independent authors and do not always reflect the position of organizations that provided materials."

There are three organizations of these: the American photo bank Life Photo Collection (he is responsible for photographs), the Spanish Royal Academy of Gastronomy (it is unlikely to be interested in the Russian-Ukrainian dispute due to borscht) and the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism. Most likely, it was it that “recognized” the borsch of the Russian.
