Julia Galyamin was arrested for seven days

The Novgorod District Court arrested for seven days the former municipal deputy of the Timiryazevsky district of Moscow Julia Galyamin, the court said .

“The court found Galyamin guilty of violating the sanitary rules when holding Russian independent municipal deputies in Veliky Novgorod on May 22–23, as well as in non -compliance with the legal requirements of the police,” the court explained. The decision of the court of first instance can be challenged in the Novgorod regional court.

Earlier, the police came to the Zemsky Congress forum, which were held in Veliky Novgorod, and demanded that its participants disperse due to violation of sanitary rules. The broadcast of the congress was carried out on the YouTube channel Galyamina.

The head of the city Ministry of Internal Affairs Sergei Maksimov said that the congress is violating the governor’s decree on coronavirus restrictions, and threatened the assembled administrative affairs. The policeman called the congress of municipal deputies illegal. However, the organizers of the congress refused to interrupt the event.

Galyamin noted that the congress participants gathered in several rooms of 25 people - two days ago Governor Andrei Nikitin reduced the permissible number of participants in private events in the region to 30.

After that, Galyamin was detained.
