The court fined a resident of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug for posts about Crimea

Konstantin Ledkov was brought to justice under Part 2 of Art. 20.3.2 Code of Administrative Offences.

On May 26, 2021, Naryan-Mar City Court of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug under Part 2 of Art. 20.3.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (public calls for separatism on the Internet) fined Konstantin Ledkov, a resident of the village of Krasnoe, 35 thousand rubles.

According to Ledkov, two of his publications on VKontakte became the reason for administrative prosecution. One of them is a picture with the outline of Crimea against the backdrop of the Ukrainian flag and with the inscription “Crimea is Ukraine,” the other is a recording with the phrase “B... to come to occupied Crimea... it’s a mess, p*** t!”

According to media reports, the Court imposed a fine on Ledkov below the lowest threshold due to his financial situation.

We consider the prosecution of Ledkov to be unlawful, since, from our point of view, calls for changing borders should be considered illegal only if they are combined with calls for violent action. In his publications, apparently, there were no calls at all.
