The document "On the secular labor activity of the clergy" was published in Moscow.
On May 28, 2021, in Moscow, at the plenum of the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church, the document “On the secular labor activity of clergymen” was promulgated. Priest Georgy Maksimov, a member of the editorial board of the Inter-Council Presence, told reporters about the content of this document. According to him, priests are not prohibited from “earning money as drivers ”, be a “teacher, tutor, consultant, translator and artist”, but you cannot participate in vocal shows or theater productions, work as waiters or bartenders, perform military service and play professional sports.
The document has been submitted for consideration by the Council of Bishops scheduled for mid-November.
