Parents of Roman Protasevich asked Angel Merkel help in the liberation of his son and other political prisoners in Belarus

The parents of the founder of Nexta Roman Protasevich, arrested in Minsk, turned to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel with a request to help the liberation of political prisoners in Belarus, including their son. This was said by Natalia and Dmitry Protasevich in an interview with Bild.

“We are very asking you to help us so that all the innocent are released from prisons. They urgently need help, because daily they are tortured and violent. Please stop Lukashenko. Each new day, no, every hour stands innocent, including children, ”the publication quoted the words of Protasevich's parents.

The father of Protasevich also said that their letters are not delivered to his son and even a lawyer cannot talk to him on the phone freely.

Recall, on May 23, the Ryanair aircraft, which followed the route of Athens - Vilnius, was put at the Minsk airport after receiving a message about mining. On behalf of Alexander Lukashenko, a fighter was raised to the sky to accompany the passenger aircraft. Lukashenko personally gave the plane to the landing team.

On board the aircraft was the founder of the opposition Telegram channel Nexta Roman Protasevich. He was detained. In Belarus, Protasevich and another NEXTA creator Stepan Putilo are included in the list of terrorists. A criminal case on the organization of riots has also been instituted against Protasevich.

The Ministry of Transport of Belarus said that the message about the mining of the Ryanair aircraft came on behalf of the Palestinian group Hamas. The department claimed that the text of the threat, due to which the plane was planted in Minsk, looked like this: “We, soldiers Hamas, demand that Israel endure fire in the gas sector. We demand that the European Union refuse to support Israel in this war. It is known that the participants of Delfi Economic Forum are returning home 4978. A bomb is laid in this plane. If you do not fulfill our requirements, the bomb will explode on May 23 over Vilnius. ” The next day, Hamas denied involvement in the “mining” of the aircraft.
