Medvedev: the number of extremist crimes in Russia increased by 45% in 2021

Dmitry Medvedev announced an increase in the number of "extremist" crimes.

On June 30, 2021 in Moscow, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting on the topic of the criminal situation in the Russian Federation stated that the number of extremist crimes in Russia increased by 45% in five months of 2021.

"In a pandemic, acts of extremism. The growth of registered crimes of this kind for the first five months of this year is quite significant - almost 45%," he said.

Medvedev urged the participants "to continue resolutely combat propaganda of nationalism, xenophobia and violence."
