The bank account of the Belarusian Pen-Center was arrested, led by the Nobel laureate, a member of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council of the opposition Svetlana Aleksievich. This is reported by the organization itself and the Nexta Telegram channel .

The account was arrested on the basis of the decision of the Investigative Committee of Belarus of July 13, 2021.

The arrest was also imposed on the bank account of the charity organization "Names". Now she cannot make payments, including transferring the projects collected to their work, Interfax reports .

The organization does not know what has become the basis for the solutions of the UK. “But our site works and your donations continue to enter in favor of projects for the bank’s transit account until the arrest was removed,” said Katerina Sinyuk, founder of NAY.

The Belarusian Pen-Center was created in 1989. He was admitted to the International PEC Club in 1990 and in connection with this he has the status of “A” in UNESCO and the status of an adviser to the UN. Svetlana Aleksievich has been led by the organization since 2019.

The project "Names" has been working in Belarus for more than five years. It helps people with disabilities, orphans, homeless people, people with mental illness, women affected by domestic violence.

On July 14, searches were held in Belarus in non -state organizations and the media. The Investigative Committee of the Republic explained this to their involvement in shadow cash flows and tax failure.
