
The bank account of the Belarusian Association of Journalists (Bazh) was arrested, according to the organization’s website.
The account was arrested on the basis of the decision of the Investigative Committee of Belarus of July 14, 2021.
“Not only payments are frozen, but also the possibility of replenishing the account,” the association published in the Telegram channel of the association said.
On July 14, searches were held at the Belarusian Association of Journalists and apartments of its leaders, the front door of the association is currently sealed. In addition to Bazh, the security forces visited the offices of 23 more organizations.
The searches took place not only in Minsk, but also in Grodno, Brest, Orsha, Borisov, Gomel, Polotsk. Prior to this, the authorities of Belarus have banned access to one of the oldest news resources of the country, the site of the publication of our Niva.
