Russian woman Maria Lasitzkene won a gold medal in height jumps in the framework of the summer Olympiad-2020, Interfax reports .

Lasitzkene overcame the bar at an altitude of 2.04 meters. The Silver winner was the Australian Nikola McDermatot. Bronze was taken by Ukrainian Yaroslav Mighty. Thanks to the victory of Lasitskene, Russia rose to the 4th line in the medal standings.

Now, the Russian national team has at the Games in Tokyo 20 awards of the highest dignity, also Russian athletes have 25 silver and 23 bronze medals.

Russian athletes at these games do not appear under the flag of the country, but under the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee, since the Russian Federation was removed from participation in the Olympic Games until December 2022 due to manipulations from doping tests of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory.

According to WADA, the laboratory forged the results of tests intended for transfer to the World Anti -Doping Agency. The organization claimed that the information was faked for a year and a half.
