
Lithuania’s authorities promise to pay 300 euros illegal migrants who will agree to voluntarily leave the country. This was stated on the air of the LRT radio head of the Department of Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Evelina Gudzinskay.
Payment, according to her, will be made when landing a migrant on a plane flying from Lithuania. 300 euros illegal migrants will receive once and only if they fly to the country of origin.
In July, Lithuania announced the emergency mode due to the influx of migrants from the Middle East, who fall into the country from the territory of Belarus.
The country's government decided to finance the construction of a fence from the state budget with barbed wire 4 meters high and 508 km long. Its cost is estimated at about 150 million euros.
Since the beginning of the year, Lithuanian border guards have detained about 4 thousand illegal migrants, which is more than 40 times more than in 2020. Prime Minister Lithuania Shinonit said that it was “hybrid aggression” by Alexander Lukashenko.
