Saratov: verdict under Art. 280 Criminal Code

Local resident convicted for xenophobic comments.

On August 25, 2021, it became known that in Saratov, the Leninsky District Court found a local resident guilty under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public incitement to extremism on the Internet) and sentenced him to one year of probation with a probationary period of one year and a ban on administering Internet resources for one year.

According to media reports, in one of the social networks, the man published comments containing calls for violence against Ukrainians.
