Residents of Irkutsk are again protesting against the construction of a temple in a park area

At the end of August 2021, residents Irkutsk again opposed the construction of an Orthodox church in Primorsky district of the city, on Bezbokova street. For the construction of the temple, it is supposed clear out the parking lot.

Petition against construction in During the first day, it gained more than 500 signatures.

Opponents of construction do not want lose their place of walking, they are afraid of a loud bell ringing in the bedroom area, and also note that next to the construction site there is a general educational school.

In addition, petitioners remind that in this microdistrict, within walking distance from the construction site, the church of St. Alexander Nevsky.

The townspeople believe that the park can be improved and instead of a temple, it can be equipped with a sports, children's and skate playground, as well as a place for walking animals.

In 2016, the townspeople have already performed against cutting down the park and building a temple, then the authorities refused to build temple.
