"People's Assembly" in Buzhaninovo

In the village of Buzhaninovo, a gathering of residents took place near the hostel for migrants after the murder of a pensioner. Those who gathered demanded to evict all visitors from the hostel and from the village in general.

On the evening of September 13, 2021, residents of the village of Buzhaninovo near Moscow in the Sergiev Posad district came to the people's gathering. The reason for the gathering was the brutal murder of a 67-year-old (according to other sources, 65-year-old) pensioner. Local publics report that "several hundred people" (from 300 to a thousand) came to the place.

The protesters came to the dormitory of LLC Ecookna, where labor migrants live, and demanded that all visitors be taken out of the dormitory and in general from Buzhaninovo. Those who came looked into the windows of the migrants and shouted "pack your things", "suitcase, station..." (in the initial reports, the third word of the slogan was not mentioned, since the country of origin of the suspects was not disclosed), "leave to eat tangerines." One of the local residents stated on camera that initially they promised to put "Slavs" in the hostel, but in the end they settled "blacks". There were threats of lynching. Those who gathered demanded that the head of the village come to them to discuss the situation. One of the local residents hit the Ecookon representative in the face.

A letter was sent to the administration of the local newspaper, where the author complained that the village "turned into a village" because of the hostel for migrants.

Police cars arrived at the place of the gathering, and the police tried to persuade the crowd to disperse. There was no further escalation of events during the night.

At 23:55, the Department of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region reported that the security forces had detained two "citizens of one of the neighboring states" (born in 1988 and 1984). They are charged with Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code (murder) and paragraph "a" part 2 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code (rape). Separately, it is reported that the investigation will check "the legality of the presence of suspects on the territory of the Russian Federation", and will also give a "legal assessment of the actions or inaction of officials persons controlling the procedure for the arrival of foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Later, the head of the municipality, Mikhail Tokarev, said that the suspects were citizens of Tajikistan.

The news circulated in some far-right public spaces with anti-immigrant comments.

An agreement was reached on a meeting on the evening of September 14 of representatives of the protesters, the administration and Eco-Windows LLC.

But already in the morning, the administration of the Sergiev Posad district in the Moscow region announced that it would demand the closure of the hostel, although by that time it was known that both suspects did not live in the hostel, but worked on the construction of a private house nearby.

On September 14, the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov ordered close hostel. All the workers of the Ekookna plant were taken out of the dormitory on a service bus.

The head of the Sergiev Posad city district, Mikhail Tokarev, urged local residents to stop and not go to the lynching.
