Kemerovo region: verdict under Art. 282 CC

A 30-year-old local resident was sentenced to probation.

On September 29, 2021, it became known that in Kemerovo, the Kirovsky District Court found a 30-year-old local resident guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of ethnic hatred) and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment on probation with a probationary period of 3 years.

According to the report of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Kemerovo Region, from March to August 2020, a Kemerovo resident published comments on his social network page “with a negative assessment of a group of people united on the basis of race, nationality, origin, as well as the superiority of one nationality over others.” The man pleaded guilty.
