Perm region: sentence under Art. 280 Criminal Code

A prisoner of IK No. 12 was found guilty of public calls for xenophobic violence.

On October 8, 2021, it became known that in the Perm Territory, the Gubakhinsky City Court found the prisoner of IK No. 12 Garaev guilty under Part 1 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremism) and sentenced him to 1 year and 8 months in a strict regime colony.

According to media reports, Garayev spread “ideas of violence motivated by religious hatred and enmity” among the prisoners.
