• The former director of Open Russia, Andrei Pivovarov, had his preventive measure extended in the case of carrying out the activities of an “undesirable organization.” He will remain in pre-trial detention until at least November 29.
• The Prosecutor General's Office approved an indictment against the editors of the student online publication DOXA Armen Aramyan, Natasha Tyshkevich, Alla Gutnikova and Volodya Metelkin. The case, initiated under the article on involving minors in dangerous activities in connection with rallies in support of Alexei Navalny, will be sent to court.
• Cherepovets resident Alexander Larionov was sentenced to two years probation due to comments on social networks. The man was found guilty under articles of calling for extremism and insulting the feelings of believers.
• In St. Petersburg on the morning of October 12, a witness in one of the “sanitary cases” initiated in connection with rallies in support of Navalny, Vladimir Nechaev, went missing. Later he was found at the Investigative Committee in Balakovo. Now the activist is free, he is now an accused in the case.
• The Supreme Court refused to consider an appeal against the verdict of the head of the Karelian Memorial, Yuri Dmitriev. In 2020, the historian was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for sexual assault against a minor. The Memorial Human Rights Center recognized Dmitriev as a political prisoner.
• In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the police came to search the home of activist Alexander Kamenyuk. Investigative measures took place as part of cases of insulting a government official and libel, initiated because of a video about the regional prosecutor's office.
• Jehovah's Witness Oleg Danilov, serving a sentence in a Krasnodar colony, had his stay in a punishment cell extended without explanation. The police searched the houses of his co-religionists from the Khabarovsk Territory.
• The court limited the time limit for Rosderzhava journalist Alexander Dorogov, who is in a pre-trial detention center, to familiarize himself with the case materials. The man is accused of extortion and insulting an official.
• In Sevastopol, the court refused to consider the complaint of Crimean Tatar Ruslan Bekirov about torture. According to the man, FSB officers threatened him, forcing him to testify against a defendant in the Sevastopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case. As part of another Hizb ut-Tahrir case, Crimean Tatar Rustem Murasov underwent two searches: the second of them was carried out without a court order. The court, despite the defense's objections, declared the search legal, finding that it was urgent.
• National Bolsheviks serving repeated arrests in Yekaterinburg - Stepan Yurchenko, Evgeny Nekrasov and Kirill Imashev - went on a hunger strike. This is how activists protest against “arrest carousels” - they were detained and arrested immediately after they left the special detention center at the end of their previous arrest.
