National Bolshevik arrested in Yekaterinburg

Maxim Kamensky was brought to justice under Art. 20.3 Code of Administrative Offences.

On October 19, 2021, Maxim Kamensky, a supporter of the party “The Other Russia of E.V. Limonov,” was detained in Yekaterinburg. A protocol was drawn up against him under Art. 20.3 Code of Administrative Offenses (public display of prohibited symbols). On October 20, it became known that the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg sentenced Kamensky to 10 days of administrative arrest.

According to OVD-Info, the reason for bringing the activist to justice was the demonstration of the “Other Russia” flag on August 28 near the mansion of the tradesman Blinov. Probably, the symbols of the party were again considered similar to the symbols of the banned National Bolshevik Party (NBP).

We consider the decision to ban the NBP as an extremist organization, made in 2007, unlawful. Accordingly, from our point of view, prosecution for displaying party symbols is also unlawful. It should also be noted that the symbolism of “The Other Russia of E.V. Limonov” differs from the symbolism of the NBP.
