The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill on the abolition of mandatory inspection for personal transport. This was reported on the website of the lower house of parliament.
According to the approved document, the passage will be necessary for individuals only when registering, changing the owner, changing the structure or replacing the main units of vehicles. In all other cases, it will be possible to receive a diagnostic card on a voluntary basis.
At the same time, for commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses and taxi vehicles, the procedure is still mandatory.
The document was submitted to the parliament on September 14 after approval by the government.
