On November 22, the editor-in-chief of the “important stories” of the novel by Anin and journalists Irina Dolinina and Ales Marokhovskaya held a preliminary hearing to challenge the status of the media, “foreign Agent”.

As the grounds for making journalists in the list of “foreign agents”, the Ministry of Justice called the number of subscribers on their personal pages on social networks, as well as information about the receipt of money from foreign sources. This information was transmitted by the Prosecutor General, which referred to Rosfinmonitoring data.

“Judging by the number of subscribers on social networks, which is indicated in the case, the materials to recognize us with“ foreign agents ”were collected in the winter, after rallies. That is, obviously, not summer denunciations launched the process, ”Irina Dolinina said after the meeting.

According to Alesi Marokhovskaya, the financial information that the Ministry of Justice operates is protected by banking secrets. According to the law, law enforcement agencies can receive them as part of a criminal case or verification, but there are no such grounds in the case.

“There is no explanation in the materials why the Prosecutor General’s Office decided to track our transactions, as if we were some kind of terrorists,” added Marokhovskaya. - There is no explanation. We do not know anything about the criminal case. It turns out that banking information was received illegally. And this is a direct intervention in our personal life. ”

In “Important Stories”, it was noted that information about the journalists of the publication was collected by a lieutenant colonel from the Center for Combating Extremism.

The publication “Important Stories” was created by a group of journalists who repeatedly became laureates of prestigious professional prizes and were engaged in anti -corruption investigations. In August, this media was recognized as a “foreign agent”.
