
The new President of Interpol was the general inspector of the Foreign Ministry of the UAE Ahmed Nasser al-Rasisi. This was reported in the organization.
Al-Risi was chosen for a four-year term. He replaced President Kim Jung Jan from South Korea as president. Prior to his appointment to the post of head of Al-Risi, he was a member of the Executive Committee of Interpol.
Former head of the organization Kim Jung Yang has held this post since November 2018.
The election of the new President Interpol took place during the meeting of the General Assembly of Interpol, which takes place in Istanbul. The General Assembly is gathering annually, it makes the main decisions on the general policy of the organization, as well as working methods, financing and program of activity.
