The reason for initiating the case was “negative statements degrading the dignity of the group persons united by one confession, language, origin", which he allowed on VKontakte.
The court sentenced him to 2.5 years in prison. What is the reason for the appointment of such a severe punishment, unfortunately, was not reported. Perhaps the media made a mistake and we are talking about a suspended sentence.
Earlier, for a similar act, Bagaev had already held liable under Art. 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (excitation hate). At that time, he attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies with his publications, which were directed against Christians and Muslims.
