Regular fines for the banned video “Let’s remember the Crooks and Thieves their Manifesto 2002” in Mari El

At least three residents of Yoshkar-Ola were fined under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for distributing a prohibited video.

In October-December 2021, the Yoshkar-Ola City Court of the Republic of Mari El continued to publish rulings on bringing citizens to justice under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (mass distribution of extremist materials) in connection with the publication of a certain video recording banned by the Kirovsky District Court of Novosibirsk. Probably, in all these cases, we are talking about the video of Alexei Navalny's supporters "Let's Remind the Crooks and Thieves of their Manifesto-2002."

On October 29, Farit Gizatullin was fined a thousand rubles, on November 17, Dmitry Chemodanov, and on December 1, Sergey Chizhov.

Oppositional users of social networks are often persecuted for publishing the video "Let's Remind the Crooks and Thieves of their Manifesto-2002". However, its content boils down to listing a number of United Russia's unfulfilled election promises from the party's draft 2002 manifesto and calling for voting for any party other than United Russia. We consider the ban on this video to be unfounded, and the numerous prosecutions for its distribution to be unlawful.
