The case of Chelyabinsk resident Alexander Levanov, initiated under Art. 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
On December 21, 2021, the Leninsky District Court of Chelyabinsk, due to the lack of corpus delicti, dismissed the case initiated under Art. 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (inciting hatred or enmity) against a local resident Alexander Levanov. This was announced by the "Network Freedoms" project with reference to the lawyer Andrey Lepekhin.
The case was initiated in November, as reported, in connection with the fact that under a certain video on the social network "VKontakte" Levanov left a comment "We remembered you, you are under the rubbish."
We welcome the decision of the Chelyabinsk court. In our opinion, law enforcement agencies should not be considered a vulnerable social group protected by anti-extremist legislation. On the contrary, as the European Court of Human Rights has repeatedly noted , law enforcement officers should be extremely tolerant of criticism, if it is not a real threat of violence. There were no calls for violence in Levanov's words.
