
The 61-year-old boss of the mafia Sicilian group "Steidd" Joakkino Gammino was found and arrested in the Spanish Galapagar 33 kilometers from Madrid. He was noticed in the picture of Google Maps standing in the chef costume next to the El Huerto de Manu fruit store. It is reported by La Repubblica.
The police began to check the pictures from nearby establishments and found a more clear photo of mafiosi with a characteristic scar on the chin. In this mind, he was identified. It turned out that he, under the name Manuel, works as a chef in the La Cocina de Manu restaurant.
According to the publication, Gammino was detained on December 17, but this has become known only now. During the arrest, Gammino asked how he was found, because he did not even call his family for the past 10 years.
Gammino was on the wanted list for 20 years. He was arrested twice - in 1984 and 1998, he was accused of killing and other crimes related to the activities of the mafia. As a result, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, but in June 2002 he was able to escape from prison in Rome when filming the film was going on there. Gammino managed to escape thanks to the fight that began during the filming.
Now he is under arrest in Spain, it can be delivered to Italy by February.
