Days when everyone lies: the specifics of pre -war propaganda
“They never lie as much as during the war, after hunting and before the elections,” usually this phrase is attributed to Otto von Bismarck and use in articles about elections. Apparently, Bismarck has nothing to do with it, although the phrase was born on the sidelines of the German political life of the time of the Iron Chancellor. The elections really regularly and lie a lot, but all this is just the shadow of a military lies - this is the true meaning of this phrase, and we can see all its depth now, on these alarming January days that may well be pre -war.
On the one hand, everything seems to be clear to everyone - information about the real movements of the troops and intentions of the headquarters is secret, so the townsfolk has no choice but to endlessly retell to each other dubious news with reference to anonymous sources, comment on them and draw far -reaching conclusions on their basis. But, on the other hand, understanding is somewhat one -sided: hypercritivity to the work of “their” agitators and statements of “their” politicians and military is often combined with us with amazing readiness to believe everything that is reported by the opposite side. Moreover, many times I had to read and hear an excuse for this position: yes, maybe they may lie, maybe the information that I am unreliable and even obviously false, but since it is detrimental to the hated regime, I will replicate it. In addition, they have the right to lies - because they are victims, because it is attacking them and so on.
Here it would be possible to give many examples from the recent Kazakh epic, where, against the backdrop of the calm of the situation, fakes multiplied on popular resistance as a result of the failed Russian occupation and even walked along the networks of the very torous video of the Front of Liberation of Kazakhstan. But who is all interested in all this now?
First of all, it must be remembered that as soon as the military or special services, the place of ordinary information or even civil propaganda is occupied by a military man. It seems that the resources are the same, and the same accounts in social networks, but the basic dungeon comes from completely different places.
The specifics of the military lies
Military propaganda is a specific genre of working with a society that is characterized by the fact that it is obviously deprived of any moral restrictions, welcomes anonymity and does not imply subsequent clarifications: a week ago, with a reference to an eyewitness, they told how enemies ate children for breakfast, and then no one remembers about it, because the theme of the new week is a story about how enemy soldiers raped animals in the animals in zoo. Unlike ordinary propaganda, and even more so from the usual informing, the goals of military propaganda are short -term and utilitarian: right now to inspire their soldiers and drive into doubts and depressions of enemy, right now and at all costs to rally their society around their army and political leadership, while trying to lay out the enemy. Therefore, the truth, humanism, the real state of affairs, and often even elementary logic is ignored: the enemy is divided by all available ways, but no one is interested in how it all looks from the outside and how it will look later.
