The URIZHE-141 URIZH-made drone of the Tu-141, which fell on March 10 in Zagreb, has a non-bomb weighing 120 kg, writes HRT with reference to sources in the Croatian Ministry of Defense. According to the head of the military department, Mario Banozhich, by March 13 it was possible to collect almost all fragments of a broken drone. In addition, traces of explosives and parts of the air bomb were found in the funnel at the crash site. This indicates that the drone was not intelligence.
As high -ranking sources in the Ministry of Defense suggest, the bomb exploded after the aircraft crashed into the ground and “buried” into soft soil. If the drone collapsed onto the asphalt or concrete coating, the consequences of the explosion would be disastrous.
The fragments of a drone, weighing about six tons, were delivered to a military base for further investigation. According to Banozhich, so far it was not possible to establish who was launched by a drone-bomber. The collected information suggests that both the Russian and the Ukrainian side could do this. For final conclusions, it is necessary to analyze the data of the black box and the leapness of the drone. So far, experts are inclined to the version that the drone flew from the Ukrainian theater by mistake into the Croatian airspace.
Earlier, when nothing was known about the bomb, the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrei PAYTKICH called the fall of the drone “a clear and unambiguous threat” for the EU and all NATO countries. According to President Croatia Zoran Milanovich, the drone was in the airspace of Hungary for more than 40 minutes, and in Croatia - less than 7 minutes. He fell in a busy area of the Croatian capital, where there are residential buildings, a restaurant and a night club. In the fall of the aircraft, several cars were damaged.
