Employees of the Spanish Civil Guard and the FBI of the USA during a joint operation arrested the Tango yacht standing in the port of Palma de Majorca. She supposedly belongs to the sanctions by Russian billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, the owner of the Renova holding, writes El Mundo. According to the Associated Press, a search was carried out on a yacht on April 4, during which documents and computers were seized. Vekselberg is suspected of laundering money, fraud and forgery of documents in order to hide the owner of the yacht.

The cost of a 77-meter four-deck yacht Tango is $ 120 million. It was built in 2011 and walks under the flag of the islands of Cook. According to the US Treasury, the ship is registered with a company located on the Virgin Islands, which is managed by Panamanian companies. Presumably, a billberg and his proxies are hidden behind this complex scheme from legal entities. Two months Tango’s yacht took place in the port and had to sail in the coming days.

Vekselberg also owns a large private aircraft Airbus A319-115 worth $ 90 million, registered on the Caribbean island of Aruba.

Earlier, the lady Anastasia yacht worth € 7 million was arrested on Mallorca. She, as the media reported, tried to sink one of the team members - Ukrainian sailor Taras Ostapchuk. He allegedly avenged the owner of the yacht for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The owner of the ship is the Russian billionaire and vice president of Rostec Alexander Mikheev.

Ostapchuk was arrested by the Spanish police, but then released.

According to El Mundo, after this incident, security was set on board to prevent similar cases of sabotage from the team.

The United States imposed sanctions against the president of the Skolkovo Foundation Viktor Vekselberg back in 2018 in connection with his involvement in Russian interference in the American elections. Vekselberg for a short time was detained and interrogated by the FBI employees. All his assets in the United States are frozen, and American companies are forbidden to deal with him. In March 2022, Vekselberg again fell into the sanctions lists of the United States and Great Britain in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
