The Zavolzhsky District Court of Yaroslavl passed the accusatory sentence of the nine former fsinites, who tried Abubakar Tsagalaev. This was reported by the human rights fund "Public Verdict".
For torture over Tsagalaev, the former FSINITS received from 3 years to 3 years and 4 months in prison, as well as a ban on work in law enforcement agencies for a period of 2 and a half to 2 years and 7 months.
Tsagalaev-a native of Chechnya, was serving a sentence in the Yaroslavl IK-1. The defendants of the criminal case are Vladimir Balanov, Alexei Vikharev, Igor Kamironov, Ivan Kokovin, Alexander Semenov, Igor Bogdanov, Alexey Brovkin, Ruslan Tsvetkov and Maxim Yablokov.
As the “public verdict” recalls, Bogdanov, Brovkin, Flower and Yablokov had previously served the punishment in the case of the beating of Yevgeny Makarov, and for Yablokov this is the third criminal case.
The criminal case of torture was instituted in February 2021 after the publication of new videos with mockery of prisoners that took place in IK-1 in 2016.
On the record from the registrar of one of the colony employees, it is clear how several people hold Abubakar Tsagalaev spaced on the table while other warders beat him with batons.
The beating was preceded by mockery of the FSIN employees. About two weeks before the release of Tsagalaev, the colony staff began to humiliate him during the search, threw the convict’s Qur'an on the floor and scattered his food. After that, Tsagalaev was sent to the penalty area, where, with despair, he cut his hand with a fragment of glass. Because of this, the FSIN employees decided to beat him.
In a four -minute published video, only a fragment of “educational work” is captured. The torture, according to the prisoner, lasted much longer, several times he lost consciousness. After the release from the colony of Tsagalaev, he lay in the hospital for two weeks.
