
In Odessa, the leader of the faction of the pro -Russian party “Opposition Platform - for Life” in the Mariupol City Council was detained. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine. The name of the detainee is not called, however, it is allegedly we are talking about Viktor Klimenko.
As stated on the website of the department, the detainee carried out the "anti-Ukrainian information campaign in support of the aggressor country." In particular, the GBR indicates a post on Facebook, published on the eve of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with a "call for the overthrow of the current Ukrainian authorities." What particular post is being discussed, is not specified.
According to the agency, the detainee is the ex -husband of the former Prosecutor General of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya. She supported the annexation of the peninsula in 2014.
The website of the department also states that the detainee considers the case of "encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine."
On April 12, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the detention of a deputy of the Parliament of Ukraine, a member of the pro-Russian faction “Opposition Platform-for Life” by Viktor Medvedchuk, who previously escaped from house arrest.
On March 18, Lychakovsky District Court of Lviv arrested Medvedchuk in absentia. The preventive measure was chosen in the manner prescribed by Part 6 of Art. 193 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, that is, in the absence of a defendant.
Medvedchuk - Kum of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Back in May 2021, the SBU aroused the case of a state reception against him. According to investigators, Medvedchuk and another deputy of the party Taras Kozak, at the direction of the Russian authorities, collected information about the locations of the military units of Ukraine and their combat training. They also created the "infrastructure of the influence of the Russian Federation in Ukraine", according to the SBU.
In October 2021, Medvedchuk was suspected of financing terrorism. According to the SBU, in 2014 he organized a coal supply scheme from self -proclaimed DPR and LPR to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
