In Germany, more than 140 criminal cases are investigated due to the approval of the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The police and the prosecutor's office of several regions of Germany have initiated more than 140 cases of approval of the war unleashed in Ukraine by the Russian authorities. Most of these cases relate to the use of the letter Z, which has become a symbol of the Russian invasion, writes RND.

The image of this letter in public places falls under Art. 140 of the German Criminal Code, which provides for a fine or imprisonment of up to three years. In the federal land, Saxony-Anhalt instructed 19 cases under this article because of the letter Z, 17 in Hamburg, 16 of them also concern this symbol. In the most densely populated land-the Northern Rhine-Westphalia-37 cases were opened due to the approval of Russian aggression against Ukraine, 22 of them are also associated with the demonstration of Z.

Some regions, for example, Bavaria, do not report the number of initiated cases. But there they also take measures against those who publicly approve of military aggression that violates international law. This was said by the Minister of Justice of Bavaria George Aizenraich.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, pro -Russian actions have passed in a number of cities of Germany, the participants of which took to the streets with Militarist symbols in the form of letters Z and V, as well as the flags of the Russian Federation and the Soviet Union. For example, about 900 people took part in Frankfurt-on-Maine. And in Stuttgart on April 9, an automotive racket was organized against the “discrimination of the Russian -speaking population” of the Federal Republic of Germany, the “discrimination of Russian -speaking children in schools” and other manifestations of “Russophobia”. About 200 cars participated in the racket. Before that, the city authorities forbade participants to use symbols associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
