Since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, access to more than 3,000 sites has been limited, Roskomsvoboda found out during the monitoring of the register of prohibited information. Mass blocking of Internet resources began before the adoption of the law "On Fakes" on March 4.

Most of the locks were started at the request of the Prosecutor General, but there are locks as a result of single court decisions. Among the blocked were sites of many independent publications and large social networks, as well as public organizations and a number of trade and IT companies.

Last time, Roskomsvoboda conducted similar monitoring in early April, at that time access to more than 1500 sites was limited.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. Already on the first day of the war, Roskomnadzor announced that Russian publications in the coverage of events in Ukraine should use only “official Russian sources”, after which he increased pressure on non -disinigused resources.

As a result of the locks and threats of recalling the rain and New Gazeta license, they were forced to suspend the work, and the Stalker 2 website and the largest online platform for the game of chess Chess.com came under locks.
