Sofya Sapuga was sentenced in Belarus to 6 years in colony

The court in Belarus sentenced the Russian woman Sophia Sape to 6 years in the colony. The girl was accused of seven criminal articles. In particular, it was found guilty of illegal collecting and disseminating information about private life, which constitute the personal and family secrets of another person, without his consent, entailed the causing harm to the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the victim.

Sapega must pay the victims of non -pecuniary damage in the amount of 167,500 Belarusian rubles and a court fee of 7,488 rubles.

The investigation connects this accusation with the participation of Sapieha in the activities of the Telegram channel “Black Book of Belarus”, which published personal data of the security forces.

Earlier, Sapga wrote a petition for pardon in the name of Alexander Lukashenko.

Sapga is a girl of one of the creators of the Telegram channel of Nexta Roman Protasevich. Together with Protasevich they were detained on May 23. On that day, the Ryanair plane, which was along the route of Athena - Vilnius, was put at the Minsk airport after receiving a message about mining. After landing, Protasevich and Sapga were detained and arrested.

It was in time that Protasevich was following Protasevich back in Greece. Greek special services studied records from surveillance cameras in hotels and at the airport and came to the conclusion that the journalist was under surveillance, including during a trip to Crete.

In June, Protasevich and Sapega were transferred from the KGB pre -trial detention center under house arrest. The Investigative Committee of Belarus reported that the defendants had concluded a deal with the investigation and give confessions. On August 9, Alexander Lukashenko, commenting on Protasevich’s case, said that “he is now almost free.”
