Residents of a village in the Rostov region oppose the transfer of the school building to the diocese

On June 7, 2022, it became known that residents of the village of Sidorovo-Kadamovskiy (part of composition of the city of Shakhty) of the Rostov region opposed the possible transfer to the diocese of the building of the only school in the village.

Near with the school there was a boarding school with educational workshops. In 2013, this building was declared unsafe. IN In 2014, the building was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church, and the territory of the site was fenced off, construction work began there.

Now residents they fear that the school building will also be transferred to the church. According to them, the pastor of the local church, Hieromonk Barnabas intends to achieve recognition of the school building emergency and pick it up, and for the residents of the village to achieve the construction of a new schools on the football field.

Local residents are not satisfied with this option: they reminded that the building is not emergency, about 200 children study at the school, and the need to move it to a new place No.

WITH Andrey Kovalyov, the head of Shakht administration, met the residents and assured them that transfer is not planned: the first class has already been recruited, the academic year will begin at the former building. His words were confirmed by the director of the department of education Mine Nadezhda Soboleva.

Tem at least the residents of the village recorded a video message to Vladimir Putin with a request to prevent the transfer of the school.
