In June 2022, it became known that in the city of Simferopol, the Republic of Crimea, a criminal case had been initiated on public calls for extremism (Part 2, Article 280 of the Criminal Code).

The case was launched against a 46-year-old local resident, who, according to law enforcement agencies, published comments in one of the communities on the VKontakte social network calling for violence against representatives of a certain ethnic group.

Details published, unfortunately, were not reported.

The suspect has been detained.
