A resident of St. Petersburg set fire to a church after a quarrel with his wife
On the morning of June 27, 2022, a fire broke out in the temple Basil the Great in the Vyborgsky district of St. Petersburg. The police assume that the cause of the fire was arson.
The fire has been extinguished and there are no casualties. Criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional destruction or damage to property).
On suspicion of arson arrested a local resident. The day before, he had a conflict with his wife, working in this temple. After a quarrel, he came to the temple with a can of gasoline and committed arson. The detainee does not deny guilt.
